Guidelines for Authors
The African Journal of Advanced Pure and Applied Sciences (AJAPAS) welcomes original, high-quality research articles, review articles, and short communications that contribute significantly to the fields within our scope. To ensure a smooth submission and review process, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in delays or rejection of the manuscript.
1. General Submission Policies
a. Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts submitted to AJAPAS must be original work and not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using reputable software. Manuscripts with a plagiarism rate exceeding 20% will be desk-rejected. b. Authorship: All authors listed on the manuscript must have made a significant intellectual contribution to the research and manuscript preparation, and agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work. c. Ethical Considerations: i. Research involving human subjects or animals must comply with relevant ethical guidelines and institutional regulations. Authors must provide evidence of ethical approval if applicable. ii. Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. iii. Data fabrication or falsification is strictly prohibited. d. Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. An Arabic title and author affiliations are also required on the title page. e. Submission Type: Ensure your manuscript type (e.g., research article, review article, short communication) aligns with the journal's scope and submission categories.
2. Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare their manuscript using the provided AJAPAS template to ensure correct formatting. The simplest way is to replace (copy-paste) the content with your own material.
a. Font and Spacing: i. Paper title: Times New Roman, font size 16. ii. Author names and affiliations: Times New Roman, font size 10. iii. Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion sections: Times New Roman, font size 10. iv. Table titles: Times New Roman, font size 10pt, justified. v. Table content: Font size 10, Times New Roman, no space after paragraph. vi. Table footnotes: Font size 10, Times New Roman, center aligned, no space before paragraph. vii. Figure captions: Times New Roman, font size 10pt, center aligned. viii. The manuscript should be double-spaced.
b. Page Numbers: All pages should be numbered consecutively. c. Sections: Organize your manuscript into clearly defined and numbered sections.
3. Submission Process
a. Online Submission System: All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system, accessible via our website: https://aaasjournals.com/index.php/ajapas/index b. Account Creation: New authors will need to create an account on the submission system. c. Required Files: Typically, authors will need to upload: * A separate title page file (with author details). * The main manuscript file (without author details for double-blind review). * Any supplementary materials (if applicable). * A cover letter stating the originality of the work and its suitability for AJAPAS. d. Review Process: Submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial editorial assessment, followed by a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Authors will be notified of the decision and provided with reviewer comments.
