Repository and Self-Archiving Policy

The African Journal of Advanced Pure and Applied Sciences (AJAPAS) is an open-access journal that encourages and supports authors in depositing their work in institutional or subject-specific repositories. This policy aims to maximize the visibility and accessibility of published research, in line with open-access principles.

In accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY) license, authors who publish with this journal retain copyright and are granted the right to make their work available in repositories without any embargo period.

Authors may deposit the following versions of their manuscripts:

  • Pre-print (Author’s submitted version): This is the original manuscript before any peer review. Authors are permitted to deposit this version at any time.

  • Post-print (Author’s accepted manuscript): This is the version that has been accepted for publication, including all peer review changes, but has not yet been formatted by the publisher. Authors may deposit this version immediately upon acceptance.

  • Published Version (Version of Record): This is the final published article as it appears on the journal's website, complete with formatting and metadata. Authors may deposit this version immediately after the article is officially published.

When depositing any version of their work, authors should provide a link back to the published article on the journal’s website to ensure that readers can access the official version.
