Abstract

Stress and strain analysis in mechanical structures is considered one of the fundamental pillars of mechanical engineering, as it plays a crucial role in evaluating the behavior of components under various loading conditions and ensuring their operational safety. With the significant advancement in numerical modeling and simulation techniques, it has become possible to perform accurate and reliable analyses that reduce the need for costly experimental testing and shorten engineering development time. SolidWorks Simulation is an effective tool that combines three-dimensional modeling with analysis based on the Finite Element Method (FEM), enabling a realistic representation of the mechanical behavior of structures with high accuracy. Through this software, different loads and boundary conditions can be applied, and the structural response can be analyzed in terms of stress, strain, and displacement, as well as identifying stress concentration regions. This study aims to present a systematic framework for analyzing the structural behavior of selected mechanical models using SolidWorks Simulation, with a comparison between numerical results and theoretical solutions to validate the model accuracy. It also highlights the importance of numerical simulation in supporting engineering design decisions, improving structural performance, and increasing safety factors. The study concludes that the use of modern simulation techniques represents an effective approach for developing more efficient and reliable mechanical systems, contributing to improved design quality and reduced risk of structural failure in various industrial applications.
