Artificial Intelligence in Kuwaiti Banks: Opportunities, Challenges, and Prospects for Enhancing Banking Efficiency

This study aimed to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence in Kuwaiti banks and to explore its prospects for improving banking efficiency. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach through a review of relevant literature, studies, and official reports.
The findings revealed that artificial intelligence has become one of the key technologies supporting the development of the banking sector by improving service quality, enhancing operational efficiency, supporting decision-making, and strengthening risk management. The study also found that Kuwaiti banks have increasingly adopted artificial intelligence applications in various banking activities; however, the implementation of these technologies still faces technical, regulatory, financial, and human resource challenges. Furthermore, the study concluded that improving banking efficiency depends on strengthening digital infrastructure, promoting financial innovation, and establishing a supportive regulatory environment for expanding the use of artificial intelligence applications.
The study recommended enhancing investment in artificial intelligence applications and digital infrastructure, developing regulatory frameworks, qualifying banking personnel, and supporting financial innovation to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the Kuwaiti banking sector.
