Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the impact of General Systems Theory (GST) on strategic management by studying how GST principles can enhance strategic planning and implementation processes. It also seeks to understand the relationship between system components and how the internal and external components of an organization interact and affect strategic performance.

Organizations face challenges in adapting to changing work environments, highlighting the need to understand how to use GST to enhance strategic performance and achieve objectives. The main research questions of this study include how GST principles affect the effectiveness of strategic management, the relationships between internal and external system components, and how GST can improve strategic decision-making.

The study adopts a descriptive methodology, reviewing the literature related to General Systems Theory and analyzing the associated concepts and principles, utilizing diverse sources including academic books, scientific articles, and previous studies.

Thus, the importance of the paper is reinforced by understanding the complexity associated with the intricate systems that organizations face in their changing environments, contributing to the development of more effective strategies. GST also aids in improving coordination among various departments, facilitating the achievement of strategic goals more smoothly. Furthermore, the theory encourages innovation by fostering comprehensive thinking and collaboration among different teams, leading to new strategic solutions. Additionally, it provides a framework for analyzing information and data from a systemic perspective, aiding leaders in making informed strategic decisions.
