This research aims to introduce economic intelligence as a strategic tool that enhances the ability of institutions and states to compete in dynamic political, economic, and social environments. The study begins with a historical foundation of economic intelligence, reviewing the evolution of its concept since its inception and highlighting its growing importance in the digital age.
It also examines the multiple definitions of economic intelligence found in academic literature and public discourse, in addition to clarifying its levels and stages. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of economic intelligence as a means of strengthening institutional capacity and achieving sustainable development within complex competitive environments. Such outcomes can only be realized through the adoption of digital systems and tools that provide a high degree of technological capability, alongside continuous monitoring of both internal and external environments.
Furthermore, the study explains the benefits of applying economic intelligence within institutions operating in dynamic and collaborative technological environments. It enables users to manage knowledge assets through systematic collection and secure storage of strategic information, while also monitoring potential future threats by observing the institutional environment and analyzing competitors in the market. This process includes identifying strengths and weaknesses and ultimately building an appropriate strategy that allows the entity—whether a state, organization, or institution—to achieve its strategic objective
