This study aims to highlight the meeting management skills of deans at Derna University – Al-Qubba, considering them essential competencies that contribute to organizing academic work, decision-making, and coordination among different administrative levels. The study sought to identify the current state of these skills from the perspective of department heads, analyze the impact of demographic variables such as gender, years of experience, academic rank, and college type on their level of practice, and offer practical suggestions for their development. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, deemed most suitable for its objectives, allowing for the analysis of meeting management skills across various demographic variables. The study population comprised all 41 department heads, with a comprehensive survey method employed to ensure complete representation. Forty-one valid questionnaires were collected. The results showed that deans practice meeting management skills
to a high degree, while none of the demographic variables had a significant impact on the level of these skills. This suggests that actual competence depends more heavily on practical experience and continuous training. The study also reached a set of recommendations aimed at enhancing the meeting management skills of college deans through specialized training programs, guidance manuals, the use of modern technologies, and the application of feedback mechanisms and effective participation, with a focus on continuous professional development to ensure improved administrative performance and increased efficiency of meetings in the university environment.
