Abstract

This study examines the standards of textuality in light of modern linguistic studies, particularly the seven fundamental standards established by Beaugrande and Dressler that confer textual status upon a text. The research focuses on the pragmatic standards, namely intentionality, acceptability, informativity, and situationality, highlighting their role in text construction and in achieving effective communication between the producer and the receiver. The study also discusses the interaction of these standards with context and surrounding circumstances, and their impact on directing meaning and determining the semantic implications of the text.
